Description
Lavender is a strongly fragrant, shrubby herb.
Lavender is perennial and will bloom from the second year.
Sow in a container under glass in May. Plant out in June at 25×25 cm. Blooms from the second year in July-August. Likes a calcareous soil and a sunny spot.
The dried flowers are also used as an ‘air freshener’, for example in the linen closet.
The plants are best pruned back in the spring to prevent the shrubs from lignifying too much.
Attractive for bees.
