About the grower

Popping seeds since 1983, this old skool grower is working with modern genetics and methods. His creations are fabulous.

Working underground in Europe, Old Dutch Genetics has consistently produced some of the best new versions of classic Dutch strains, as well as a few highly prized crosses with the latest and greatest strains from the US. At first we were quite skeptical about autoflowers. The first results in the early years were not exceptional. The varieties produced today are much more potent: more yield and better taste. At Organic Earth we offer a growing number of autoflower seeds. Down below you will find an overview.

What is autoflower

The origins of autoflowering or Cannabis Ruderalis are still debatable. The strain Lowryder by breeder The Joint Doctor was the original large scale marketed autoflower. More info about the origins you can find here.

The essential feature of an autoflower plant is it will start flowering not depending of the hours of light. Ideal to harvest in the mids of summer (when planted at the right time!). Growing inside is a possibility; advice in that case is to put the lightning on 18 hours per day.

Our view is also reflected in our name: we stand for an organic cultivation method and, after more then 30 years, we have gained the necessary experience. Now we want to market our own fertilizers: 100% organic and very user-friendly.

History

In 1992, at the start, there where no organic or specific fertilizers for cannabis on the market, or at least not in consumer-friendly packaging. So we bought 20 liter cans of Fish-emulsion and packed them in small bottles. We did the same with the dry fertilizers; we put them in smaller quantities in brown paper bags.

As time went by, convienience became the key; hence the development of liquid fertilizers for every phase of the plant. In 2013, we stopped with our house-brand; there is no pride in selling synthetic minerals in plastic bottles, filled with water.

We went back to the basics !

Creating something new out of expierience

All necessary nutrients and trace elements in 1 mix. For an 100% Organic cultivation. That was and is our goal.

It is impossible to make one mix with everything in it:

1. A mix that has a long shelf-live has no living parts in it.
2. Some genetics have more specific needs so one mix can never be suitable for all genetics.
3. To prepare one mix that can be used for every individual way of growing, is an impossible task.

The only solution is to splitt things up.

Instructions for use

The easy way to make a rich and healthy Living Soil, is starting to mix a good potting-soil with Earth Mix. There are 2 options: the dark green Earth Mix is for longer flowering strains like CoNoLiA or Jack Thai; the light green Earth Mix is for shorter flowering strains and is enriched with extra magnesium, specially for the Cali-strains. Basicly the soil is prepared after mixing and ready to use. Sprinkle 1 to 2 teaspoons of Mycorrhizae in the plantinghole before potting your plant. Trichoderma is very benificial when starting with seeds or young seedlings. A teaspoon per plant should be enough. The Bacillus is already pre-mixed into the Earth Mix, but indispensable to make a good Compost Tea.

Different ways of boosting

During the whole proces it is advisable to use compost tea. We have different products to stimulate growth and blooming.

One of the main ingredients for a healthy compost tea is Molasses: sugar for plants and bacteria ! Using Worm Manure for a healthy and green plant is a wise thing to do. Insect Frass (in association with Lurpe Natural Solutions) is a good alternative to Guano and stimulates the budding.

Top dressing with BioBooster has to be done in the right time: with plants that only need 8 weeks of flowering, the right moment to put the Biobooster powder on the top of your soil is week 3 or 4 of the flowering stage so the natural minerals can easily disolve and assimilated by the plant.
