CANNA is the leading producer of nutrients and growing mediums for growing fast-growing plants. Since its foundation in the early 1990s, all products are scientifically tested before they are put on the market. But even before the company was founded, the founders were already scientifically pioneering plants.
The pioneer time
The founders of CANNA started growing with great passion in the eighties. They wanted to share the knowledge they gained with other growers. Dissatisfied with the limited supply and quality of the current fertilizers at the time, they launched the first food products on the market in the early 1990s: CANNA Vega and CANNA Flores.

Nowadays

CANNA offers five food lines and an additive line that, in addition to the Netherlands, are sold in more than thirty countries. Every CANNA product is made with love to achieve the best possible results when using a specific culture medium or growing method. The secret of CANNA can be found in a carefully balanced and integrated mix of the best main and trace elements for every nutritional and medium combination.

CANNA has the complete production chain in its own hands. From development and research, to the unique environmentally friendly production line and distribution. In this way they keep control and guarantee quality. CANNA has grown enormously in the last thirty years, which means that they have a lot of practical experience and knowledge.

Research

CANNA are still experimenting, nowadays on a large scale. They have five research centers located around the world. Here passionate scientists unravel the secrets of nature and conduct research into plants, nutrition and location-specific factors such as climate. The passion for plants is reflected in CANNA’s quality products. Years of intensive research precede the market launch of each product. Only when they are 100% sure that the product has an optimal effect it will be put on the market. On average, CANNA spends two years developing a product.

CANNA originated from a fascination with nature. The people behind CANNA wanted to get to know each plant and understand the growing process. We thought sustainable before it was an item. This is reflected in the course we choose. For example, the bottles are made of polyethylene, a plastic that can easily be recycled.
