What is autoflower

The origins of autoflowering or Cannabis Ruderalis are still debatable. The strain Lowryder by breeder The Joint Doctor was the original large scale marketed autoflower. More info about the origins you can find here.

The essential feature of an autoflower plant is it will start flowering not depending of the hours of light. Ideal to harvest in the mids of summer (when planted at the right time!). Growing inside is a possibility; advice in that case is to put the lightning on 18 hours per day.

Crayos Genetics, a new breeder in the cannabis industry, giving us his first project: a strain called: ‘SuperiorFreak Automatic’ . This strain is a cross between ‘SupaFreak’ (Humboldt Seed Company) and ‘Super Blueberry Haze Auto’ (Flash Seeds). 

The Mother (SupaFreak) smells floral ~ fruity & the father citrus ~ gasoline so this plant is a mix of those, some phenos even have peppery smells in it.

‘SuperiorFreak Automatic’ is a Strain that was created by crossing ‘SupaFreak’ (Humboldt Seed Company) and ‘Super Blueberry Haze Auto’ (Flash Seeds). Brought to the 4th generation (F4) to lock in the two desired recessive traits: the serrated ‘freaky’ leaves & automatic flowering.

Supa freak was originally bred by Shapeshifter; it’s a bx to the original pineapple mom. HSC made it available in seeds.

ACE Seeds is a group of breeders and cannabis lovers dedicated to the preservation and study of this wonderful plant.

Our planet is suffering a constant loss of genetic diversity and Cannabis is not an exception. It is our responsibility to save all these unique forms of life, and to maintain and preserve the biodiversity.

The pure landrace varieties, which are the origin of all the domesticated varieties, are a prime example of the amazing adaptation of cannabis to the different ecosystems of our planet, and the millenary and instensive relationships with human race.

The pure varieties are disappearing for many reasons, such as elimination of natural habitats, war, lost of ancestral cultures, genetic contamination, globalization and laws prohibiting research and use of this plant almost around the world.

Although we already count with many medical uses based in Cannabis, we have still only barely scratched the surface of this plant’s potential and what it can offer to the world.

Haze from Ace

Here in Organic Earth there is a history with the Haze’s Nevil Schoenmakers once created. In the past working with the cuttings was a real hassle: plants that grow 3 meters tall in a cellar of 1.80 is a different discipline; not everyone can grow Haze. In those 30 years I have seen many failed projects. Although I know for a fact that their starting genetics where the real deal (their A5 is thé A5 from the nineties), I was not much impressed by the flowers some people showed me when they passed by to test their results of the Haze seeds coming from Ace. Untill last month when a expierienced grower showed me some results: the real shizzle.

Small flowers, many small leaves and minimal resin formation with that unmistakable Haze scent, which, after burning, leaves a long-lasting smile: when you know, you know.

As to be expected we could not resist and for now we have chosen these 2 variaties, available per piece and per 5-pack:

Honest classification

In the ever-expanding world of cannabis breeders, you sometimes can’t see the forest for the trees. That’s why we’ve made it a little easier by grouping the seeds. There are 2 major classifications: first there is the difference in feminised, regulars and autoflowers. You can make these choices in the menu at the top of the website. It is also possible to pick a strain or cultivar on the basis of Breeder, or weeks of flowering or Flavor.

Flavor classes

The obsession with THC percentage in the cannabis market has blurred the line between craft and corporate cannabis, endangering small farmers.

Terpene content, not THC, is seen as a better quality indicator, influencing flavor and effects. The Emerald Cup, with SC Labs and NAPRO research, isworking to highlight terpene importance te redefine cannabis quality and empower farmers and consumers.

To brighten all the different strains that we offer in our store and online, and to point directions we have distinguished 6 groups of flavors, based on the terpene-classes, made public by the Emerald Cup, in 2022.

For the moment it is not yet possible to find out all the terpenes of all the offered strains and cultivars. But the combination of the data given by the breeder, the shared expieriences from customers and the wisdom of our own testing-panel has resulted in a good indication of what to expect from a seed.

We are convinced this layout will help you make the right choice.

We want you to know that these classifications are just an indication; effect, taste and terpene levels can differ in phenotype, sort of growth (inside-outside, bio-chemic fertilizers, LED-HPS, etc) and by drying-proces. If you have any questions or remarks, please let us know.

About Ripper Seeds

The origin of Ripper Seeds dates back to the early 2000s, when their fondness for this plant species became for almost all of them in their daily work. The Grow Shop sector in Spain was just born and grew in the peninsula and the people from Ripper along with it. During this period they select different types of varieties that they still keep today. Their knowledge grew over the years but it was not until the middle of 2011 when they decided to meet and found Ripper Seeds. Since then they strive to make their work a little better every day and to be able to offer their followers high-quality seeds that are 100% feminized.

Original Genetics

Since Organic Earth started selling Ripper Seeds around 2016, we knew there was something new cooking: the old genetics from the older seedbanks where getting boring and didn’t meet up to the expectations. Ripper used some older genetics but mainly new genetics from across the ocean to create some new and interesting crosses with some amazing terps.

We, at Organic Earth, are extremely proud to present Emerald Mountain Legacy who is preserving and celebrating the innovative breeding work of the late, great Mack Anderson also known as Mandelbrot.

The Emerald Triangle

Mandelbrot AKA Ras Truth

One of the most influential breeders in Emerald history is Mack Anderson creator of the infamous Royal Kush line.

Famously known by his counter-culture aliases Mack was also known by, Mandelbrot and Ras Truth. He and his cultivars are a legend . These were the first strains with the diesel fuel terpene profile that has now become synonymous with Humboldt County and the Emerald Triangle in general.

After distributing the first clones of OG Kush and Sour Diesel in Humboldt County, Mandelbrot developed his own cultivars that became so widely propagated they are now esteemed as the foundation for the Emerald Triangle’s world-famous gasoline-scented high-grade.

Story of the Royal Kush

His most famous work to date is an elite cutting selected by himself from a sea of 3000 starts from the original Royal Kush F1 seed stock. Bred on the Mendocino coast and further developed in Northern Humboldt, the Royal Kush was the first cultivar overwhelmingly transcend both worlds of extreme fuel funk and fruit.

For growers she was often described as the end-all-be-all of kush plants. Large yields screaming of gas, no pests, no mold, and flowers stacking into bluish-purple pillows covered in white snow finished with a photoperiod of only 50-55 days versus the 70-75 days required for most OG’s and Sours.

Work in progress

As time progressed, Mandelbrot would continue his search for the original F1 clone and dedicate himself to increasing the long-term genetic diversity of his collections until his untimely death in 2015

He was one of the most prolific organic farmers on Mendocino and Humboldt. Ahead of his time, he was among the first to recognize the power of 100% organic biodynamic based indoor commercial farming and predominantly plant-based eco-conscious fertilizer inputs.

Team Emerald Mountain, as they like to call themselves, has two lines of seeds available to the public: Emerald Mountain Legacy and Mandelbrot’s Family Heirlooms.  Each with different end users in mind.

The Emerald Mountain Legacy line is intended for seed enthusiasts who appreciate subtle variances in phenotype and may want to do some level of breeding on their own.  It is also well suited to those who want to find their favorite phenotype and keep it around as a clone. While the team is careful to cull sexually unstable progeny and to avoid undesirable traits, these seeds are not refined in the same way as the higher end line of seeds.  The intent is to allow for some level of variation so that the consumer can explore some variance within the boundaries which are set out for them with these selections. Because these seeds took less time and energy to create, they are offered at a very affordable rate. 

Mandelbrot’s Family Heirlooms is the name given to our high-end line of seeds. This title and the lengthy process required to produce these boutique seeds is reserved for the most coveted lines. They were meticulously refined over many generations to lock in the desirable traits they were bred for.  These seeds, refined by Mandelbrot himself, offer something truly special in their attributes and are guaranteed to produce a stable and consistently positive result. At Organic Earth, we like to introduce new genetics and have therefore given a number of new breeders a place in our shop. At the moment we want to put Og ‘Naj in the spotlight.

Returning from his first Cup, he decided to create his first variety of his own by crossing BubbleGum from Serious Seeds and NYC diesel from Soma. A few months later, in 2011, the Og’Naj Sour Bubble was born.

A few years later he took part in the HomeGrow Cup where he presented the Napoleon Haze. And she won first place! With all this positive feedback, he decided to launch his own seed line under the name Og ‘Naj Genetics.

Og Naj Genetics’ first release

Organic Earth congratulates Og ‘Naj with this first release of his sativa line. He works with a number of Haze dominant strains. Like his own proven and true Haze cross Leonidos, and what about his selected and special pheno of the infamous Neville’s Haze. But also with 2 amazing pheno’s of the Cloudwalker. Mixing new with old school, with this release you get a taste of his breeding work with more Haze influences. Expect a bit longer flowering times then usual but it will be rewarded with above avarage yields and great Haze characteristics.

In the future, expect more indica dominant varieties of this promising new breeder.
